We say if a boomerang doesn’t return, it’s a stick. As children, we walked many places barefoot. We loved the feel of our feet touching the ground and we made many tracks, well-worn paths.
 
Whether we took a short walk or a long one, we knew not to return late. We never got lost, having a good sense of direction. A few years ago, my Dad and I had the opportunity to go back and see the places where our forefathers walked and where we had also walked. My wife Barbara came too and saw these places with us.
