Being a keen fisherman, I often see mangroves along the beaches in Cairns, represented by the strong curved lines at the bottom of the painting. I love to look at the myriad forms of life that occur there. The darker blue lines represent the waves flowing, while the lighter blue pools represent the shallows. Green leaves float on the surface as if they have just dropped onto the water.
