I was fascinated with and amazed at how colourful a bird could be. They were very noisy birds, especially in the mornings and late afternoons. There were groups of them flying around or sitting in the large trees, particularly the blue gums. I would have like to have kept one as a pet but they have their freedom too. The vivid colour of the birds is reflected in the vivid colours of the background in the painting.
